Sigma 10-20mm new version

This Sigma has a new improved version with a constant f3.5 aperture.

Built quality:

Seems the Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 has a good nice built quality. The lens feels small, well built, nicely can operate. The lens little lighter then the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 and feels not so robust.

Optical quality

The Sigma 10-20 can make nice sharp results with nice colours. Not very good against flare(general problem for this wide angle lenses). Seems though the Tokina 11-16 is better especially in the corners, and has better contrast. The Sigma has less CA though, and the Sigma has better wider range. This Aps-C sized wide angles show more similarity than difference. The optical differences are not big. Samyang also produce wide angle lenses(8 f3.5, 14f2.8) but without autofocus for lot less money. The Samyang has very good resolution, but lot more distortion as well, and the angle of view of the 14mm is narrower. The 8mm has much bigger distortion, but the biggest field of view. The Canon 10-22 seem better in the corners than the Sigma, and perhaps better against flare.
