Seems a Canon G1 X Mk II is an interesting new “compact” camera. The Camera has a 24-120mm f/2-f/3.4 lens, and a 18,7 mm*14mm sensor(Approximately Micro 4/3 size, little even bigger this called 1,5 format). Canon claims Dsrl like image quality for this camera. Today when there are plenty of cameras are available in compact or interchangeable lens forms, this new camera is still an interesting camera, which is very good to simply put to the pocket. The f/2 help to make creative images with the camera, and the bigger sensor is a key element to make this model attractive. The video capability of the camera also look very promising according to the sample video. The two ring on the lens is a very nice way to give controls for the people who use the camera.

Seems the price of the new Canon G1 X MK II camera is 799 USD. At first looks a little steep, one can buy a Dsrl for this price, but with some time I guess the price can descend to interesting levels, like the price of the new Canon M camera for example.
