Canon 6d Mk II release date review specification

The Canon 6d line is the most interesting in the Canon line as I see. Of course if you pay more you can get better and better cameras, but for this price you can get a camera that is very good. Hope the new version of the popular Canon 6d Mk II will be even better. Dual pixel af, little better focusing system would add a significant value to the already very nice, capable camera.

News 2015 Aug

At the moment according to rumors the next Canon Full frame camera will be the Canon 5dX. The X moniker shows it is an action camera with fast af, like the 1Dx, the Ds line will be the high resolution line as the Canon 5ds and 5ds R cameras.

At the moment the future of the Canon 6d is not really sure. The Canon 6d offers a very good Full frame sensor at a lowest price point. What I think Canon will increase the price and perhaps add one or two extra functions. The Dual pixel af is not included any FF camera yet. Seems it is spared for Cinema Eos and some Aps-C cameras.

Canon 6d Mk II latest news

Seems the Canon 6d Mk II coming soon. More and more rumors appear about the new Canon Full frame camera. We try to keep updated, and write about the newest rumors.

Canon 6d Mk II specs guess

It is really interesting. How the new Canon 6d Mk II will look like. Until now it is a rumor, nobody announced that the new Canon 6d Mk II comes officially. I like the concept of the Canon 6d very much: smaller size and weight and cheaper price, Full frame sensor. The only drawback or weaker point is that the camera has only 1 cross type focus point. For this price, and excellent smaller size and weight I can live with that.

Seems the original models has discontinued, which means for me the new camera if coming will be more expensive. It would have been nice to kept it in the line-up.

What would be nice to have in the Canon 6d Mk II ?

-higher dynamic range ( 13 or 14 EV ) – Nikons are better with almost 15 EV in newest models
– better high iso performance – can be better, quite good already
– Dual pixel AF – the most obvious move I think, in live view for movies and landscapes
-other functions more likely the GPS and electronic compass of the new 7d Mk II camera
– more cross type focus points
– 5 layer Foveon like sensor – Canon has a patent for it, it would be a big surprise or news if Canon would release a completely new sensor in the Canon 6d Mk II camera, many guess this sensor in the higher end models
– articulated screen – not very likely
– some people perhaps prefer Wifi and NFC for remote control by smartphone, as it is a trend today
– size and weight is perfect no change needed, perhaps mirrorless is also an option with a very small pocketable body, and new mount as well
– 4K video – I would be really surprized, if Canon put it in this camera, Cinema EOS or top of the line cameras has it
– High frame rate video ( e.g 120 fps ) at lower res videos – many would like this but for me don’t seem very likely either
-some other new technology would be exciting, sensor technology, high elec frame rate or something groundbreaking like wide dynamic range, better contrast, higher resolution. The higher resolution of the current Nikon cameras perhaps helps Canon to think about it as well, as it is suggested in many rumors.

Canon 6d Mk II Photo parameters

Resolution: 20.9 Megapixel Canon doesn’t have a 36 Megapixel pixel monster yet, perhaps a 6d would be a good place to start testing a new high resolution sensor, even 50 megapixel, but this size is very dense almost equivalent a 20 megapixel Aps-c sensor camera, the 36 or 40 megapixel seems more than enough

Canon 6d Mk II release date

The Canon 6d Mk II perhaps will released in 2015. No information or announcement yet about the release date of the new Canon 6d Mk II.

Introduction

Canon 6d Mk II release date has not known yet. The Canon 6d is already an excellent camera with a discounted price compare to the Canon 5d Mk III. This is why probably not going to receive the more advanced autofocus system of the pricier cameras. The smaller size of the Canon 6d is very nice.

Canon 6d Mk II specifications

Today the reason to update perhaps only the newer live autofocus system of the 70D perhaps, but for stills shooters perhaps not worth to upgrade.

Canon 6d Mk II weight and build quality

The build quality and weight perhaps won’t change on the new Canon 6d Mk II.
Perhaps some new functions or technologies will appear.

[do_widget Text]

Canon 6d Mk II sensor

The sensor of the Canon 6d is very good, only improvement to made is perhaps dynamic range compare to Nikon dslrs for example, but for this improvement Canon needs some time as I think.

Canon 6d Mk II new functions and technologies

Until the new Canon 6d MkII appear, perhaps Canon invent something for shadow detail as the Nikon’s D-lighting. New dual pixel autofocus with improved performance also in all likelihood appear for video or Live view stills shooting.

Canon 6d Mk II pricing

Folks would be happy if the pricing of the “budget” Dsrl would drop by 30% as was anticipated long before. Many have thought only Full frame cameras will cover the market soon. This unfortunately didn’t happened, and not very likely to happen in the near future. For this price this very good camera has a low-key number of possible customers.

Canon 6d Mk II predecessors

Canon 6d – released in 2012
The predecessor of the Canon 6d Mk II, the original Canon 6d was released in 2012. It was a huge success, due to the excellent picture quality, smaller size, and lower price compare to other Canon Full frame models. The camera has got a recommendation status in online photo magazines everywhere.

The Canon 6d has a 20 megapixel FF CMOS sensor, 11 focus points, but only 1 cross type, good 12.1 EV dynamic range, which is currently the best among Canon Full frame cameras, excellent high ISO output. The camera is smaller and lighter than the models before. It’s size and weight is approximately similar to the Canon 70D line of cameras. It is very good.

An extraordinary portrait lens from Canon. Very sharp, even wide open, shallow dof on Full frame the top of the line product. Extremely expensive as well, you can easily buy a used car for this price almost everywhere. If you earn money than it is a very high quality product.
