Nikon d5300 release date

Update: Seems the Nikon d5300 has been released without AA filter and a significantly higher price than the Nikon d5200. The Nikon d5200 a good value, because the picture quality has no big difference. The Nikon d5300 has some extra feautures.

Seems the new Nikon d5300 coming. The older Nikon d5200 is already a very good camera at a relatively affordable price.See the review of the Nikon d5200 here

Nikon d5300 release date

It is interesting what will be the new features and upgrades of the new Nikon d5300 camera. It is rumoured to have the Expeed 4 processor, the first camera that gets the new software, other bells and whistles such as built in Wifi, and GPS function. Seems the main features of the Nikon d5300 Camera such as the 24 MP sensor and 39 autocus points remains unchanged, but seems No AA filter in the new d5300 like at d7100.  No information yet about improved video abilities. Perhaps this is the function that can have some improvement. I think the camera’s phisical parameteres not going to change such as size and weight, lens compatibility, ISO range, camera mount. No new information about the new Nikon d400 which is hoped by many as I think. Nikon announced the new Nikon d610, the Nikon d5300 but no new info about the Nikon d400.

Seems the new Nikon d5300 can be released this year or the beginning of 2014.

For the current Nikon d5200 owners

perhaps the new functions are not enough to upgrade to the newer d5300 unless the Wifi or GPS function is a priority for them. For starters perhaps the new camera is better, if the price not going to be significantly higher.

The current Nikon d5200 camera has an excellent value compare to the price

at today’s DSRL market. The camera’s 24 MP sensor is essentially the same that the sensor of the higher end Nikon d7100. The d5200 is a smaller camera has an AA filter in front of the sensor, which is omitted in front of the Nikon D7100’s sensor. The smaller size can be a bonus, if we want to bring the camera everywhere. The d7100 has more frame rate, improved autofocus performance and build quality, easier access to photographic functions, but has a significantly higher price tag as well. The smaller modell has much better price/performance ration if we don’t desperately needed the D7100’s extra functions. The Nikon D5200 and certainly the new d5300 also produce quite usable images until 6400 iso which is very good for an Aps-C sensor sized camera.
