Olympus Sp 100EE
Introduction – Olympus Sp 100EE
Olympus was one of the pioneers in the Ultrazoom compact camera market. I remember I used the 8x ultrazoom Olympus camera (Olympus C720 UZ I think), and was exited to make photos of birds. Until that time the “standard” compact camera was usually equipped with a 3x zoom lens, which was not really up to the task. After came the Olympus 550 Uz which was packed with a 18x zoom lens, which was a real sensation, with a respectable 27 or 28mm equivalent wide angle. The newest Olympus Sp 100EE seems heavily packed with technology, equipped with a huge, wide (24mm equivalent), super long 1200mm equivalent stabilized lens, but features a tiny 1/2.3″ usual sized compact camera CMOS sensor. The new camera has an ISO range expandable till ISO 6400. The closest distance for macro is 1cm.
