First the Sony A6000 is a super camera, good job Sony ! Thank you for the super camera. The video quality is excellent with lots of controls, very capable af system, and good button layout. So good camera that many people interested to buy an upgrade.

Latest rumors (June 2015)
Latest rumors has not many details regarding the new Sony a6100. There is a fastest autofocus speculation (the Sony a6100 will have the fastest af in the world), which was a marketing idea during the original Sony a6000 release as well. There are speculations about it will be a Sony Nex 7 line camera, or between the Nex 6 and the Nex 7 line. There is a rumor about water sealing which I don’t consider very likely.
What is more likely is a good in camera stabilizer. (Sony a7 II recently has a 5 axis in-camera sensor-shift stabilizer). What is good in it, it can be used with any lens attached to the camera.

– 4K video would be nice seems many people would like it

It is interesting for 800 USD one can buy a camera with 4K video.

Sony is famous about innovation. What can make Sony to speed up, is that Samsung seems to have serious plans in the mirrorless camera/video market. The upcoming new Samsung NX1 has a high frame rate, 28 Mp sensor, and several other new functions like the af, which works in really low light. Perhaps this makes Sony to develop new functions as well.

The Sony a6100 camera is not yet announced, but seems coming sooner or later. The predecessor the Sony a6000 is one of the most interesting camera of 2014. Excellent image quality, fast 179 points hybrid autofocus system, small size and weight. In meantime the new Sony a5100 has been released as well. The Sony a5100 got the 24Mpix sensor as well, and upgraded LCD screen, which was a weak point of the older Sony a5000.

The Sony Nex 6 is a popular and successful camera from Sony. It has received many positive reviews. The 179 Hybrid af system is quick, the camera has an excellent 24 Megapixel Aps-C CMOS image sensor. The camera has a good price/performance ratio, the camera has a pop-up electronic viewfinder as well.

Before the Sony a6000, the Sony cameras was called Nex. What makes a little confusion that Sony called the new camera alpha as well, as the name of the previous mount, but the lens mount remained the Sony “E” mount, instead of the older alpha mount. With a separate adapter it is possible to use alpha mount lenses as well. The adapter costs 200 USD.
