Tokina 24-70mm f2.8 lens
Tokina will release a new 24-70mm f2.8 lens.
The lens has ultrasonic focusing and Fx coverage. The weight of the lens is 1kg, which also indicates that the lens is well built. Tokina lenses known for their very nice build quality. I think the new lens won’t be an exception. The bright aperture makes this lens very useful, for applications like portraits or low light photography.
There is no information about the price and the availability of the new lens yet. The lens has an ultrasonic focusing, so this will be the second Tokina lens with ultrasonic focusing system.
The optical quality and autofocus precision / speed/ sound in not yet known. Tokina makes high quality products like the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens for example or the new Tokina 11-20mm f/2.8 DX lens, which better than the native Canon or Nikon products. The new Tokina 24-70mm has tougher competition though, as Canon and Nikon has very strong lenses in this segment.

The price of the new Tokina 24-70mm f2.8 is not known yet. As this lens targeted for Pro market, it won’t be cheap.
