Rumor or reality? Who knows, if this lens will be released soon or not? The Tamron 150-600 lens is an incredible successful lens nowadays thanks to the moderate user friendly price and excellent optical and mechanical quality. One needs to wait for the lens several months. What Sigma can come up with? It is very interesting the new Tamron 150-600 is almost perfect, what can Sigma add to this? Better auto focusing mechanism, the latest HSM drive, better stabilizer improved optical quality, smaller weight, lower price ? Mostly consumer search for this things, especially better optical quality which interests perhaps anyone together with the lower price tag, which make the Tamron so successful. Seems this lens is not a rumor yet, see the specs below.

The rumors suggests that the new Sigma 150-600 soon will be announced in the market. The release date is not known yet. My guess is several weeks or months needed the lens to be released.

Sigma 150-600 available mounts

Sigma Canon and Nikon mounts. The lighter version is reported to be available in Pentax K and Sony A mounts as well.

Sigma 150-600 f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM price

The price of the Sports version is 2000 Dollar. There is no price for the contemporary version yet.
There is no information about the price yet, but they spoke about “higher end” which perhaps translates into higher price. But it is too early perhaps to know this, after the official announcement perhaps we now better, what is the plan of Sigma. Nowadays Sigma comes up with some truly exceptional quality products: the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 “Art”, the Sigma 35mm f/1.4 “Art” and the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 “Art” together with the also exceptional Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 “Sports” lens. Even the consumer grade lenses like the Sigma 17-70 “C” has much better build quality and improved performance.
